    Good morning everyone,

NHS Norfolk and NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Cluster Equality Delivery System Consultation

The NHS Norfolk and NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Cluster are consulting on the Equality Delivery System (EDS). A 90 day consultation period begins on Monday, 5 September 2011 and will run until Sunday, 4 December 2011.

NHS Norfolk and NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney remain committed to developing an organisational culture that promotes Equality and Diversity and to ensuring that future NHS organisations are equipped to meet their duties relating to equality and human rights placed upon them by equality legislation. We therefore welcome the opportunity to publish our EDS Outcomes Framework (2011 – 2013) and within this, we include our priorities and actions from our respective Single Equality Schemes.

This Framework sets out our long term commitment to equality, diversity, human rights and community cohesion and it will be monitored against robust evidence of compliance and regularly refreshed to ensure its relevance.

There is a short questionnaire included at the back of the document to enable you to express your views. You can download a copy of the Equality Delivery System Outcomes Framework 2011-2013 from both the NHS Norfolk website and the NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney website by using the links below. The questionnaire can also be completed online and can be accessed through the following link:

If you are a member of an organisation, we would be very grateful if you would circulate details of the document to your members and any other organisation/individual who you think may be interested.

Please take this opportunity to get involved and let us know your thoughts.

Interested in helping to improve health and social care?

Come and help shape your HealthWatch in Norfolk

Health and social care services help people to live longer, healthier, fulfilling and independent lives. They provide important services in our local communities to prevent people from becoming ill and needing care, and to support people when they do.

As a result of the Health and Social Care Bill we are developing a local HealthWatch service by October 2012 to help improve health and adult social care services in Norfolk.

    HealthWatch will

. Influence local health and social care to better meet people’s needs.

. Advise individuals about local health and social care and signpost them to appropriate services.

    Dear friends,

From next week Tuesday 6th September 2011, the ten pin bowling resumes at the Regent Bowls in Regent Road, Yarmouth. You are very welcomed to attend and enjoy a game of smashing down those 10 white pins. The Bumpers will be up too to avoid losing your ball down the gutters!

The NNAB is organising these monthly sessions (1st Tuesday of each month) and Rebecca would like to see you there and have a bit of fun. Everyone needs to be there upstairs at around 1:45pm so the game can start at 2pm. The cost of a game per person is £2.60.

There is a café and everyone is invited to have a drink and relax after the session and natter about their game and skill!

If you wish to learn more about this and other activities the NNAB provides then phone 01603 629 558.
